Multimedia Storytelling Initiative

The Economics of Happiness in Asia

The Oxford Society for International Development, a student-run society from Oxford University, recently invited our Executive Director, Dr. Kent Schroeder to speak along with Prof. Brooks, a social scientist at the Ohio State University, on the role that Bhutan’s Gross National Happiness model plays as an alternative development framework. Is there more to development than economic growth? Is GNH the key to bringing about more holistic development? Hear more of their conversation here:

Tapestry 2030

Tapestry 2030 is a multimedia storytelling initiative focusing on the future of international cooperation and global solidarity, and the partnerships needed for gender transformative, sustainable development. Launched on February 8, 2021 in celebration of International Development Week 2021, the stories anchor the principles for Just Recovery within the context of the pandemic. This series is from the Ontario Council for International Cooperation (OCIC) and is supported by podcaster Safa Shahkhalili and illustrator Amanda Schutz.
